Pack Up Your Troubles...

Feeling positively tropical in this heat with this babin 50s style Hawaiian playsuit!

Hawaiian Print 1950's style Playsuit // Tara Starlet
Hula Girl Pin Badge // Punky Pins
Suitcase bag // Accessorize (sold out, similar here)

Finally things are starting to feel abit more summery round here, heatwave, gorgeous beach times and its officially ok to have ice cream for lunch & dinner!

With the weather being so gorgeous, I ventured down to the beach in my Tara Starlet playsuit. It’s an oldie, but a goodie, having had it for a few years now! Its been to BBQ’s, luau parties..the lot!

This time I’ve teamed it up with this super cute pin badge from Punky Pins , I am so obsessed with pins right now, I so wanna get more!

Although the temptation was there to go all wavey with my hair I left it straight as the 30 degree heatwave is probably enough for it to deal with! J

Not familiar with Tara Starlet?

Tara Starlet will have you going gaga over their vintage 50s style designs that make you feel like a 1950’s pin up girl, every design is so unique all being sourced and manufactured in London. I think I first heard of them having spotted them in a magazine some years ago now and knew I had to check them out!

Check out their SS16 collection now and let your inner pin up doll loose!

Love, Sarah x

Botanical

My Monaco Gran Prix botanical show-stopper. Kudos to Asos for this gem!

Firstly sorry for my resting bitch face in these! I had planned to shoot these on the Carpet Gardens on the seafront but then discovered a huge beer tent for the bank holiday had been put up on it! :)

So I went exploring for a new destination and thought I had found the perfect new place - quiet close off a nice area, pretty gardens ect... so far so good.

Turns out I had to use 2 of of my Get Out Of Jail Free Cards within 15 mins after an old Daily Mail reading* old bat came out and had a go at me for standing on a pathway near her property which didn't look like it was hers as it looked like a pathway out of the close! Que a very speedy walk away from her while she continued ranting!

Second one was nicer though but was the first time I've fished out the ummm yeah don't mind me I'm a fashion student!** excuse. :)

Anywayyy!!

A last minute impulse but omg-must-have moment hit me when I saw this dress land on Asos last week. It was exactly what I was looking for to wear for the Monaco GP practice session we attended on Thursday. Can't do Monaco without going a little glam right?

Riviera Suitcase Bag // Accessorize - Now £22!
Brown Wooden Heel Sandals // Topshop
Sunglasses // Guess

This dress just ticked all the boxes with its off shoulder floral ruffles, all over print and a sexy thigh high split. As usual when it arrived the day before we caught our flight, I ended up taking quite a lot off the bottom to make it even remotely wearable. Its ment to be long anyway but it looked ridiculous with my short legs so out came the scissors!

I cut off more than I ment to I think, but I kinda like the length now, I can also wear it with flats and it doesn't feel like it's trailing behind me. In to the suitcase it went and I felt like a goddess at the GP circuit in it.

A very tired one though as it was our last day. Thank god for sunglasses for hiding tired eyes!

Down on the Riviera...

Because every girl needs a holiday bag to match the location right?

Stripe Maxi Dress // Primark
Riviera Suitcase Bag // Accessorize
Sunglasses // Guess

Each holiday I have always found my monochrome striped maxi and sunnies always made it in to my suitcase. Summer stripes are a classic and must have as a holiday wardrobe staple. Naturally though, they have started to get really worn looking after a good few years of wear so I did some shopping to update my faves before going away,

This stripe dress is a great match for my old one, although my old Primark one was monochrome striped I really like this new take on it with navy and camel stripes and a more daring neckline (just gotta be wary of those tanlines!). :)

I also treated myself to an early Birthday present and picked up these Guess sunnies after my ancient Accesorize faves I've had since I was 14 were desperately needing to retire! I will be keeping these for years also for sure, spesh with the amazing leopard print case they came with. It feels nice and grown up to have my first proper pair of sunglasses :)

The bag is possibly my fave though, I am a sucker for trying to match my holiday outfits to the location I'm travelling and I was delighted to see that Accesorize had made a bag with all the destinations I'm going to on - and in the same cute suitcase design I wanted to get last year but missed out on at the time as I figured it may hang around for me to buy...but it didn't! So pleased it's back again.

Just need a floppy hat on really to complete the look and I'm virtually  Riviera holiday ready! :)

My Jan Sales Picks - Accessories

Throughout the January I haven't had much luck finding any outfits in the sales as such, I actually hate trawling through messy sales rails only to find something you think is in your size but turns out its on the wrong hanger....ain't got time for that!

I do enjoy finding accessories though, before Christmas I saw these beauties but felt they were just abit pricey for me to be parted with any monies from my wallet - now that Christmas is over with they have all gone down to half price, some even 75% off! :)

Robot Bag - Accessorize - was £32 now £10.75

As per usual the Accessorize sale delivered, I always tend to find something in Accessorize. I loved this lil Robot bag when I saw it before Christmas but at £35 I couldn't really justify it despite my love of  novelty bags. In the sale though this is not only £10! Bargain!

Velvet Bra & My Little Pony Phone Case - Topshop - was £23 now £12, Case £5

I saw this cute set in Topshop In Oxford Circus the other week, I've been a fan of push up bras lately so wanted something that was still pretty but less padded on days in between (don't wear push up bras for days on end..it hurts!) This velvet one ticked all the boxes, is comfortable and like most Topshop bras I find fit nicely.

The phone case was abit of a random find, there were loads of them in he sale baskets near the concessions stuff  so I picked it up having wanted a My Little pony case for my collection for a while! Not sure what the brand is tbh and neither did the cashier!

Pink Mongolian Furry Bag & Brown Furry Stole/Scarf  - New Look - Was £20, Now £8, Fur stole was £15 now £7

I saw these both in New Look Stratford City. I have been wanting a Mongolian furry bag for ages but never get round to getting one as they are so pricey. This one was just in the sales and with this blush pinky colour will go with all Spring wardrobe pallets as well as metallics :) Expect to see this one in a few outfit posts soon. The brown furry scarf I had my eyes on again for a while but couldn't afford it so jumped on it in the sale!

Silver Glitter Platforms - Boohoo - was £25, now £16

You may remember my velvet ones I blogged about just before Christmas? These were another amazing pair from Boohoos stunning partywear collection that I had to also get! so looking forward to teaming these up with socks and prints for quirky party looks.

Stars and stripes shoe laces & comic strip nail stickers - Claire's - was £5 , now £3 stickers now £2

Claires always pull off a good sale! I picked these up a some saturday treats! The shoe laces are something i thought I could jazz up some old white trainers with and remind me to book our trip to NY soon hopefully and the comic strip nails look amazing, I love nail stickers and Claire's ones usually do last well.

Have you had any lucky finds in the sales? Let me know! :)

Sporty Stripes

Cricket Style Knit Jumper // 915
Cream Striped Mini Skirt // Primark
White Mesh Strappy Sandals // Peacocks

Abit of designer inspiration on a budget today!!

I was inspired a little by the SS15 Preen collection which I really liked as it is a sporty yet chic range full of spring colours and go faster racing style stripes! One of the looks was a Cricket jumper with a red striped mini and sandals which I love. But as Preen are a little out of my price range and I own a cricket jumper already I thought I'd give this look a try on the cheap with my 915 jumper which I've had as a wardrobe staple for years (vintagey or sports style jumpers NEVER go out of style...def invest in one if you don't own one already!) V-necks are also pretty on trend at the moment too.

As my skirt and jumper lack any bright colours as red stripy things are also huge news right now, I added abit of colour back in with my cute Accessorize heart shaped bag. Am still totally obsessed right now with heart shaped stuff and stripes. :)

If you're also hooked on the sporty and stripy trend and looking for something lke the Preen range then you should check out Topshop Uniques latest drop - go faster stripes, v-necks and sporty looks a-plenty!

Hearts & Anchors

Anchor Blouse - Primark
Red Leather Skater Skirt - Primark
Heart Bag - Accessorize
Red Patent Mary Janes - Marks & Spencer
Lips - Loreal Color Riche 461 - Scarlett Creme

So, whilst I was on that mooching trip round town on monday I also ended up buying a new outfit! lol! retail therapy eh!

I saw this shirt in Primark and wanted to make an outfit for it straight away without going crazy on a whim, so I headed to the sale rale and added this leather skater skirt (only £3, bargain!) and voila! perfect match, and picks out the red detail on the blouse perfectly! I also love the silver anchor charms that are attched to the collar, so cute & kitch!
