Just a Girl

Green Knitted Stripe Tee // Topshop (Sold Out)
Hayden Ripped Boyfriend Jeans // Topshop
Silver Sneakers // New Look
Elephant Necklace // Claires
Blue Bindi // Brighton Lanes

I was channelling my inner Gwen the other day. My ultimate style icon.

I dug out my collection of bindis I have found in various shops over the years and teamed it up with this knit stripe tee from TopShop for a little bit of 90s girlness. I actually shot this before hearing the news about Gwen and Gavin Rosdale. What the hell? Thought they were one of these couples that was gonna be forever :( and then Kermit and Miss Piggy on the same day!! Sad times!

Back on to the stripy tee though, its def one of my fave newbie items in my wardrobe and seems to be alot of others as well thinking this too as this has totally sold out too! Please make more Topshop and in different colours! A girl can never own too many stripy tees, like Gwen's super cool No Doubt looks they just never go out of style.

Byron Bay Meets London..

Coral Boho Stripe Wrap Skirt // Spell & The Gypsy Collective
Coin Necklace // Primark
Black Western Style Boots // Primark

Byron Bay meets London Vintage with this gorgeous wrap around skirt..

This is without a doubt my fave thing I have bought this season. I have been wearing it to death lately and have been waiting ages to shoot this one!

Its from a Australian brand Spell & The Gypsy who make stunning boho clothes that are really unique to any other boho brand out there.

The story behind the design of this skirt is that the designers came across a similar design skirt to this whilst looking around London Vintage markets. A decade later with some Spell design magic and they created this lovely!

Its a thick cotton weave material so the quality of the fabric is really nice yet not too hot to wear for summer. I wasn't able to get a shot of how it looks when you walk and not sure sure how to explain it but it has nice movement if that makes any sense!! it doesn't hang straight and taut all the time which I really like and the wrap style makes its incredibly comfortable and flattering as you tie it quite high on your hips.

You can get a matching bustier top with it and go all coordinating if you wanna but I quite like keeping it comfy and have opted for this boxy style crop top from one of my fave brands WildFox.

Def wanna go to Oz and go shopping there now, keep seeing so much nice things online that all come from Australia! Maybe will try and squeeze in a trip there someday!

Culottes

Striped Crepe Culottes // Primark
Red Wrap Around Top // Jane Norman
Red Patent Tie Front Heels // M&S
Red Hair Flower // Claires Accessories

I dared myself to pick up these culottes after seeing them in my local Primark store, I loved the look of them on the posters for Primark SS15 and decided I was gonna bite the bullet and get them, despite the whole short legs = no culottes thing!

Having had disaster after disaster with other below the knee things such as midi skirts and sporty playsuits making me look even shorter I was pleasantly surprised when I tried these on, they are made of a crepe material which not only make them feel really expensive (these look and feel more like Zara or Mango quality yet were only £17!) and even when worn without heels look pretty cool! yay! :)

My only critique is that If they were horizontal stripes it would prob be even better for the whole height thing but I really like these and this super cool nautical feel they have to them - a great option for something to wear for work that's different!

Sporty Stripes

Cricket Style Knit Jumper // 915
Cream Striped Mini Skirt // Primark
White Mesh Strappy Sandals // Peacocks

Abit of designer inspiration on a budget today!!

I was inspired a little by the SS15 Preen collection which I really liked as it is a sporty yet chic range full of spring colours and go faster racing style stripes! One of the looks was a Cricket jumper with a red striped mini and sandals which I love. But as Preen are a little out of my price range and I own a cricket jumper already I thought I'd give this look a try on the cheap with my 915 jumper which I've had as a wardrobe staple for years (vintagey or sports style jumpers NEVER go out of style...def invest in one if you don't own one already!) V-necks are also pretty on trend at the moment too.

As my skirt and jumper lack any bright colours as red stripy things are also huge news right now, I added abit of colour back in with my cute Accessorize heart shaped bag. Am still totally obsessed right now with heart shaped stuff and stripes. :)

If you're also hooked on the sporty and stripy trend and looking for something lke the Preen range then you should check out Topshop Uniques latest drop - go faster stripes, v-necks and sporty looks a-plenty!

Spring 15 Edit - Lust List

This month is without a doubt the worst & longest wait for payday, am now at the point where I'm having to come up with creative dinner ideas from whatever is in the cupboards, although it is the easiest month to make a wishlist as once the sales have started to dwindle, boom! in comes all this pretty spring stuff & this year its all about 70's 70's 70's!

Topshop never let us down when it comes to any vintage style trends and again they do not disappoint. It has the most dreamiest collection of pinafores, smock dresses and boots which I can't wait to try and see if I can get my hands on when its payday, guarantee these will sell out fast! Here are my best picks of Spring and what's new online & in stores at the mo!

Clockwise from Top:

Black Lace-Up Front Playsuit - Pretty Little Thing
Brown Paisley Playsuit - Pretty Little Thing

Stripes are also back though this year with more colour,  the monochrome colour block style stripes that have dominated the fashion world for the last few SS season are now  taking a step back and making way for these colourful deck chair, seasidey kinda stripes for a cool spring look. Monochrome stripes are still about though for those of you who who are not fans of colours!

I have had Gypsy Warrior on my radar or some time now but think I def need to make my first purchase with the Rose Nightfall dress! Think mesh dresses are gonna be a great layering staple piece for me this spring whilst we wait for the temperatures to climb! Hurryyy Upppp Summer!
