The 80s Called...

and they are ready to party! So bring your big hair, huge puff sleeves and neon colours out for Christmas party wear, AW17 style!

Pink Metallic Clutch // Primark
Blue Suede Heels // H&M
Blue Scarf (worn as hair tie) // Tie Rack

Party season is officially here! TBH I'm excited even without a party to go to as I cannot wait to see this year out, is has been one of my absolute worst, and that's comparing it to alot of pretty deep stuff so you know when I say its been crap it really really has been!

The fashion side of things has been far from a let down though, this season has seen a serious 80s revival, and as a proud 80s child I am lovin it!

This Asos dress ticks all the boxes, one shoulder, puff sleeve, colourful and of course a touch of leopard print! Unfortunately the camera doesn't pick it up, but there is also silvery stitching around the print which gives it a lovely shiny festive look.

I also haven't worn anything one shoulder in a longgg time, I used to love one shoulder tops though (I totally had one of the Tammy Girl tops with one shoulder and diamante writing "Babe" on it when I was around 14, you know you had one too!) so I am rediscovering my love for these here. It is much more comfy to wear than I thought it would be.

If you are looking for a look-at-me party dress this year then I think going for one of these unique one shoulder beauties is well worth it and will be a stand out piece for your wardrobe, that and think of all the layering possibility's you could do with this..!

If you don't feel confident rocking a huge puff sleeve, then why not try one of the more subtle options to give your take on the trend? Boohoo has some great ones in metallic shades, or if you want to go full blown 80s babe then hit up ASOS for shoulder pad and puff sleeve heaven.

Love, Sarah x

Organza

I feel like something out of Blue Planet in this tee  (thinking more of a Jellyfish, not a Bobbit... *shudders)

Mom jeans // Stradivarius

Well aware this top will not be everyone's cup of tea as it is pretty out there! That's why it caught my eye though, I am a little bit of a collector when it comes to fashion, the crazier it is, the more exciting it is and more likely I'll buy it! I like to wear things that have alot of movement (if that makes any sense) I live swishy tutu skirts, maxis with a side split and pleated things.. not sure why but they always feel good to wear.

This one seriously takes the frills trend up a notch with these HUGE organza frill sleeves!  There will be PLENTY more organza around for the upcoming festive period which looks to be a 80s fashion frenzy, I am really looking forward to it.

I really like that this top is so mis-matched with its pink princess organza on a sporty looking V neck shirt.  Not sure if I'd wear with jeans again but will experiment with this more in the spring when the weathers back to being on the warmer side. Check out Asos Collection though when you can for more unique pieces like this!

Lime Green

SS17 = all about colour! Get your colour fix with zingy neon tones like this cool T-shirt dress from Asos!

Silver Converse Style Plimsoles // Primark
Robot Bag // Accessorize

Sorry bout the lack of blogging lately, being uber busy DIYing and the pretty lame weather (sun, where u at?!) hasn't really been very inspiring for some Spring fashion shooting, My hair is probably thanking the cooler weather though whilst it still recovers. The temptation to try out a peachy or rose gold hue has been really hard to ignore but I need to try n keep my locks n good nick as they are due back in the salon for what will hopefully be the last lightning up sesh in a couple of weeks!

This T-shirt dress from Asos has me covered though. Absolutely perfect weekend wear as its comfy, still long-ish whilst the weather is not exactly at its warmest and its windy and adds a friendly pop of colour to remind me it's actually now May and should be much warmer than it is!

With Lime Green being one of my favourite colours anyhow I had to get this, The t shirt is not attached underneath either so it can be used to layer over anything as the dress - multiple outfits in one! The frill detail on the side of the dress also oozes more SS17 trend points as frills and ruffles are still huuuggge right now.

Great as I am also trying to be more savvy about what I buy and getting as much wear as I can out of things : )

Would you rock a bold neon outfit?

Fresh

New Season, New hair! January isn't the only time you can make a big change and freshen up your look! :)

Red Check Deconstructed Skirt // Asos
Sandals // Topshop
Hair by Beehive Hair & Beauty Salon, Eastbourne

At long freekin last I got my hair did. See ya later brunetteness, never liked you much anyway.

And hello strawberry blonde! It was a hugely lengthy process to get you but so worth it as we can now experiment with colours and things. That said I'm liking the strawb blonde already, it makes such a difference to my outfits and really helps to bring out the colour in them as I like to wear alot of colour. I am soo looking forward to experimenting with it as well as trying out new outfits and ideas that simply wouldn't of worked before :)

Remember what I always say about denim too? I still am a firm believer that denim looks a million miles better on blondes so naturally I treated myself to my first denim jacket. My favourite denim is always fairly vintage looking, worn in and distressed so my criteria was met when I scouted this Forever 21 jacket online.

Its a tiny bit too big but guess this will work better for layering when it gets later in the season or now even on chillier days.

I've matched it up here to another gingham style pretty from Asos. Although it very much resembles a tea towel it does still make me feel super springy and was a fab choice for the first day of the year to get the legs out (with nude tights of course) I love the deconstructed hem and the frill top part of this skirt! deffo a new skirt fave for me!  :)

Frillz

Later's Winter! We are heading in to SS17 with this bold green frill top from Asos

Vintage Fit Mom Jeans // Stradivarius
Robot Shoulder Bag // Accessorize
Silver Boots // Primark

Sorta,

Well, the blog is at least till I get back from Iceland! yep, tomorrow we are heading for Reykjavik to see out the last week or so of Winter in style! :) most def a travel blog post coming up about our trip when we return! I will be SO ready for Springwear after then :)

This is also possibly the last you will see of my brunette hair till I post up Springwear in early April as I am undergoing a big hair change when we get back! I literally cannot wait till my appointment as my roots are not mega over grown and my tresses haven't been cut for almost 2 years now so to say I can't wait is an understatement. So ready for a change.

This is abit of a sneak preview of Spring stuff that is now coming in! This ruffle green blouse from Asos is perfect for the super exaggerated sleeve trend for this season, huge ruffles which nod to the 80s (woop! my time!) and I'm also loving this green.

Not a colour I've ever really chosen but I got it thinking my new hair may match it :) For now, windswept, outgrown roots hair will have to do! : )

Check out my fave ruffle blouses below, the bigger and crazier the better!

Uniform

Transeasonal weather calls for some back to basic styling, this is my current go to outfit

Pink Tie Dye Hoodie // Forever 21
Vintage Fit Mom Jeans // Stradivarius
Mermaid Scale Sneakers // Dolls Kill

With the weather being all sorts of random at the mo, my fave outfit at the mo are jeans and a hoody!

I've literally lived in this hoody and jeans combo the last couple of weeks whilst we are sorting the flat out and moving things around. Kinda like my basics uniform for the weekend!

I found these jeans in Stradivarius in London the other week, finally a new vintagey looking pair to replace my much loved Missguided ones that are now far too tight for me. Its taken me a while to find a pair I like but finally got these!

Don't think I'll ever go back to skinny jeans now. I tend to wear jeans only when I'm feelin very tomboyish or during winter and spring so skinnys for me feel way to uncomfortable! I like my comfort over too tight clothes!

With a nod to this new season though, I've teamed up my hoodie with a corset belt. Whatever your thoughts on on this bizarre trend, I actually quite like it!

Not sure I liked the "Touch" music video for Little Mix's Perrie Edwards version of this look though think I would of like it if it was a more contrasting colour to the hoody she was wearing as the flesh coloured one didn't look to great in my opinion. I think a black one like this would of gone better!

What do you think of the corset/sweater trend?

January Pay Day Wishlist

Its almost here!! The longest ever pay waiting game of the yeeeaaarrr is almost over (sigh of relief!)

Its also time for new season trends to start popping up as much as I love this it frustrates me at the same time. Whats with bringing in all this beaut springy like stuff when Winters only just arrived?! Sort it out fashion peeps! otherwise, hurry up warmer weather so I can wear some of this!

Still adding it all to my wishlist though as not sure I'll be able to wait too long, it looks like the embroidery thing is still going for now and there's also a HUGE nod to this springs biggest trend - its all about them sleeves! More on that another day..

Here's my current pinned list of faves, doubt I'll be able to buy much (if anything) due to Icelandy saving as its now 6 weeks away and I've still got a couple of things to book. Its a seriously expensive holiday but I know it will be so worth it :)

Hugely crushing on studded jackets and florals still and that Asos dress has Spring written all over it! <3 my fave new in sections at the mo have to be River Island though and Missguided! Two shops I've not really gone for in a long time so they are seriously winning me back if they have pretties like these on the rails!

Whats your fave?

1. Light Blue Embroidered Studded Jacket - Glamourous | 2. Cher Ankle Grazer Tartan Trousers - Love Too True | 3. Velvet Quilted Patch Bomber Jacket - Asos | 4. Green Bardot Waterfall Sleeve Bodysuit - Missguided | 5. Multi Print Cami Dress - Asos Premium | 6. Black Wash T-shirt Dress - Missguided | 7.  Embroidered and Studded Denim Bag - River Island | 8. Teen Idol Tunic Dress - Sister Jane
