Diamonds and Pearls

Madonna vibes with this 80's pearl and black velvet combo

Velvet Ruffle Skirt (Pearls added to it!) // Boohoo
White Shirt // Missguided
Silver Zip Boots // Primark

Sorry again for lack of posting, I've been crazy busy with my new job. Working in a salon is super busy and pretty tiring. It's exciting though and fast paced which I love and I do get an extra day off a week as I'm now working a 4 day working week. I've been learning loads though and putting in loads of extra time over the last 2 weeks to learn everything before the busy Christmas Party season arrives!

As I mentioned before, I also have to wear black there day to day so I've been looking around for outfits that liven it up abit and I came across this beauty of a bralet in River Island that is perfect for layering and adding abit a cool 80s glam to an otherwise dull outfit.

I thought I'd go matchy matchy so I also picked up this cute Boohoo skirt and added the pearl embellishment myself to save a couple of quid - Can you believe I picked these up from Poundland?! It came with loads of these stick on pearls in both white and rose gold for just a quid! Perfect for a budget outfit update!

Black Velvet & Florals

Think floral's are for Summer? Think again! PLT have got the embroidery trend nailed with this velvet floral wonder.

Black Velvet Floral Jumpsuit // Pretty Little Thing
Black Studded Boots // Pretty Little Thing (old)
Black Floral Cross Body Bag // Primark
Black Suede Baker Boy Hat // Next (verrryyyy old!)

Firstly, Happy New Year! :)

I know it's cliche to keep going on on one about "new year, new me" stuff so I'll spare you of that! I do love a new year start feeling though as although you can obvs change and start a-fresh anytime of year it's still a great feeling to move in to a new year with a clean(ish) slate and feeling positive for new things and excitement of what this year may bring.

For me and the boy, its clear we are at a point in our lives that we are now desperate to get things moving and start a new chapter so we are hoping 2017 brings that for us and gets on on the road to owning our own home! Gotta take the rough with the smooth though which may mean a year of saving and holding back this year but it will be worth it in the long run.

One thing that has no signs of changing is the embroidery trend which I posted about way back in June last year. I have adored this trend and it looks like its not going anywhere just yet which makes it even more of a good reason to shop this one!

This jumpsuit is from my faves Pretty Little Thing. They absolutely slayed Christmas and NYE wear to the point that if I had the time of would of done a separate wishlist on their collections as they were fab!

I don't often opt for unitards or jumpsuits but couldn't resist this one due to its pretty wintery floral embroidery. Oh, did I mention its also velvet too! 😍

Here's a couple of my fave embroidery picks out there at the mo. From jackets, jumpsuits to sweaters this trend will be on everything, just shop around and check out some of the designs out there!

Personally am in love with the River Island jacket below! I'm gonna need a room just for cute jackets at the rate I'm buying them right now! Check out my pinterest to see what else I'm pinning on this trend!

Jazz up your winter wardrobe with Embroidery!

Princess Candyfloss

I go for all-in-pink princess for Lazy Oafs first batch of SS16 offerings!

Pink Velvet Princess Crop Tee // Lazy Oaf
Irridescent Hyper Backpack // Skinnydip London
Tulle Skirt (reworked and dip-dyed!) // Originally from Ebay
Silver Metallic Sneakers // New Look

Finally got my first thing ever from Lazy Oaf, and it's a super good un! I love this pink velour top, its cute but can still be dressed up grungy as well. If and when I break from the super girly phase I'm going through (prob not till end of summer!) I'll try and match it up with something a little darker!

For now, dressing up as a princess on my random I-just-cant-adult-day off and heading to the amusement arcades was the one.

It was my first shoot in another town aside London or Eastbourne so I ain't gonna lie, it was difficult as always though I did get through quite alot of candyfloss which was yum! I kinda like how it turned out though even if it wasn't near the rollercoaster as I had hoped..stupid cleaner guy just wouldn't leave!

Recognise the skirt? This is the same skirt I wore to my Christmas Party last year and super glued roses on it. Since the roses wilted I pulled them off (causing a few tears in the process, oops) and had a dip dye sesh with this skirt, dying it fully baby pink to start and then going over with flamingo pink just for the bottom quarters in dip-dye style! Gives it abit of a summery make over!

As for the holes and tears I'm not too fussed about them, I could cover them up with flowers again or patches.. the possibilities are endless! Am loving the DIY trend at the mo. It's good to do especially now as the footballs on.. anyone else here becoming a football widow? :)

Check out my Lazy Oaf SS16 picks below. Also worth noting it is their 15th Anniversary next week and with that they are launching a birthday collection featuring some new exclusive items and some restocks of old faves. Keep an eye on their Instagram page for the most up to date stuff on this, sounds exciting!

My Jan Sales Picks - Accessories

Throughout the January I haven't had much luck finding any outfits in the sales as such, I actually hate trawling through messy sales rails only to find something you think is in your size but turns out its on the wrong hanger....ain't got time for that!

I do enjoy finding accessories though, before Christmas I saw these beauties but felt they were just abit pricey for me to be parted with any monies from my wallet - now that Christmas is over with they have all gone down to half price, some even 75% off! :)

Robot Bag - Accessorize - was £32 now £10.75

As per usual the Accessorize sale delivered, I always tend to find something in Accessorize. I loved this lil Robot bag when I saw it before Christmas but at £35 I couldn't really justify it despite my love of  novelty bags. In the sale though this is not only £10! Bargain!

Velvet Bra & My Little Pony Phone Case - Topshop - was £23 now £12, Case £5

I saw this cute set in Topshop In Oxford Circus the other week, I've been a fan of push up bras lately so wanted something that was still pretty but less padded on days in between (don't wear push up bras for days on end..it hurts!) This velvet one ticked all the boxes, is comfortable and like most Topshop bras I find fit nicely.

The phone case was abit of a random find, there were loads of them in he sale baskets near the concessions stuff  so I picked it up having wanted a My Little pony case for my collection for a while! Not sure what the brand is tbh and neither did the cashier!

Pink Mongolian Furry Bag & Brown Furry Stole/Scarf  - New Look - Was £20, Now £8, Fur stole was £15 now £7

I saw these both in New Look Stratford City. I have been wanting a Mongolian furry bag for ages but never get round to getting one as they are so pricey. This one was just in the sales and with this blush pinky colour will go with all Spring wardrobe pallets as well as metallics :) Expect to see this one in a few outfit posts soon. The brown furry scarf I had my eyes on again for a while but couldn't afford it so jumped on it in the sale!

Silver Glitter Platforms - Boohoo - was £25, now £16

You may remember my velvet ones I blogged about just before Christmas? These were another amazing pair from Boohoos stunning partywear collection that I had to also get! so looking forward to teaming these up with socks and prints for quirky party looks.

Stars and stripes shoe laces & comic strip nail stickers - Claire's - was £5 , now £3 stickers now £2

Claires always pull off a good sale! I picked these up a some saturday treats! The shoe laces are something i thought I could jazz up some old white trainers with and remind me to book our trip to NY soon hopefully and the comic strip nails look amazing, I love nail stickers and Claire's ones usually do last well.

Have you had any lucky finds in the sales? Let me know! :)

Velvet Lux

Draped Asymmetric Skirt // Boohoo

I tried velvet last year and have realised I have gone for very similar look here again only this time instead I have gone for an almost top-to-toe asymmetric ensemble!

Whether there are any rules of wearing two asymmetric pieces together, I'm not sure - I just picked these two out because I love the shine of the velvet and the draped skirt together - makes me feel more christmassy going for festive colours! :) Asymetrics always give a nice hour glass illusion  and are super flattering for everyone to wear.

This bodysuit from Missguided is a stunning velvet piece if you want to try something different that's velvety and shows abit of skin - just be sure if you do order it to order a size up - this is an 8 and its super tight on me as it is!

Velvet always makes me feel wintery and I think it is perfect for evening wear ...not for wearing on a farm as I found out later (blogger issues 198 - working full time & with it being winter taking any opportunity to shoot whenever possible..even if that means stripping off in the countyside and shooting whilst the suns out and daylight!!)

I got pretty muddy but these platform beauties from Boohoo somehow survived! One of my fave shoe purchases this year! I actually bought the silver glitter version of these as well, they are so comfy its unbelievable!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Hope you all have a fantastic day! :)

Lolita

Black Velvet Lace Collar Skater Dress // Oh My Love (now half price £16!)
White Cleated Sandals // Ebay

Ah, have been wanting one of these black collared dresses for aaggges but being really picky at the one I wanted and missing out! my main criteria was that i wanted a skater skirt one and it had to be long sleeved...also with white cuffs if possible though tbh I could easily add these on to this dress if I fancy it, that way would be even more lolita style!

Lolita has always been one of my fave fashion types to follow, having been a collector of all things Harajuku before Gwen Stefani's Harajuku lovers days! I still have a collection of lolita and cyber goth postcards around my bedroom fireplace and a custom cosplay outfit. Just love love love the creativity of japanese fashion.. .cannot wait to go to Harajuku one day to check out all the lolita and crazy cool styles of Japan fashion!
