Vagabond

I pay a quick homage to Prada's AW16 styling, minus the Sony NEX-5...

Corset Belt // DIY
Grey Thigh High Boots // Primark

A couple of weeks ago I went in to the hairdressers for my 3 monthly roots touch up. I'm usually there for hours (damn you fine, aubany hair!!) whilst they bleach it up in which time I usually read a book and every magazine the salon has to offer.

Whilst there reading editions of Glamour & Elle I stumbled across a feature on Prada's AW campaign earlier this year and totally fell in love with the styling. Miuccia Prada had explained backstage at her AW16 show that it was inspired by the idea of a Vagabond, all outfits were incredibly detailed, experimenting with layering and different textures - with one eye catching detail that struck me on most of the models which was a large corset belt worn in a fairly undone way.

This look has definitely inspired me to try this over the top of my 70s maxi dresses I lived in last year to give them a new season update, Although this DIY belt is far from finished. I wanted to make the edging look as raw as possible so I took an old pair of jeans and ripped along the seams for a frayed raw look.

The only newness on this one is my new grey thigh boots, pleased to now say I own a pair of thigh highs in black, brown and grey now with all three being different in that they are different heel sizes and fabrics!

PS. Sorry about the poor quality pictures, as you may of seen on my Instagram or Twitter, my camera faceplanted itself last time I was out with it (despite being on a flat service on its tripod!!) and fell in to a cosy pile of leaves.

Only then did I pick it up to find the lens had totally disjointed and now its completely broken with Jessops quoting more to repair than the whole camera cost me to buy new in 2013! :'( hopefully will think of a new alternative as whilst there is always a phone camera its no where near as good as I do miss my camera alot.

If you are solo shooting on a tripod though and find yourself minus a camera than the Timercam app  and a Joby Griptight mount for universal tripods are a good make do. The app is free and you can set a timer for up to 15 seconds and the Joby comes in at only £7.99 from John Lewis. You can pick up the next day from store or a Waitrose if they deliver to yours. That's how I'm making do for the moment!

Valfre

Stealing some Spring style from LA with this super cute sweater from Valfre

Vintage Style Mom Jeans // Missguided
Pink Cleated Sandals // Ebay

Think I have found my new fave spring sweater! I haven't stopped wearing it since it arrived in the post last month, I was worried it maybe a little to thick to wear but its just right for for this time of year, not to thick but just right to cover your arms when the sun goes in. Its such a nice colour too, I am really in to pink lately, spring definitely brings out my girlier side!

Its my first item from Valfe, founded by LA artist llse Valfre, all of the clothes and accessories are totally unique from any other brand  I have shopped from before. You can also buy prints and journals which are also cute af too!

Drop Dead

Krustymania with x2 Simpsons colabs in one post! Featuring Drop Dead & SkinnyDip

Krusty Tie Dye Boxy Tee // Drop Dead
"I can always be myself around you" Flatforms (customised with pink fluff!)  // Choies
Krusty Shake Phone Case // Skinny Dip x The Simpsons
Lilac Satchel (customised with New Look Stickers!) // River Island
Pink Fluff Keychain // Molly Trubody

It has been such gorgeous weekend! It feels fantastic to actually be able to go out and shoot in the daylight and that it is sunny enough to not wear a jacket. FREEEEEEDOMMMMM! (loool British problems!!)

It made sense to also have a good hair day as well so I went and booked a long over due condition treatment for my tresses before shooting these. I am trying to get in the habit of doing these every 6 weeks to keep my long hair & bleached hair in top condition, for £15 its def worth it! :) I then shot these out in the yard..haven't been out here in a while as the flammin scaffolding is still up and blocking out sky dish (to US readers that's our cable connection stuff!) so we can't get signal! boooo. That's why its even more grotty out there then usual but gotta make do for now!

On to the outfit though, I managed to finally get one of these Drop Dead Krusty tees from their Itchy & Scratchy collection! yay! :D Its not a new collection by any means but I have been scouting Ebay to try and get one and found this one in mint condition so got it for myself as an Easter present! :) It teams up with my Skinny Dip Case perfectly.

I do love a boxy tee as well, perfect for chilled weekends and they go great with slouchy boyf jeans like these fab metallic moto ones. I shot these as well last year but it was dark so you can now finally sorta see them in their iridescent shiny glory! :)

Neck Ties & Boho Layering

Trying out the new season trends - The neck tie is fast becoming my new favourite accessory..

Grey Ribbed Midi Dress // Ebay (coming to a Depop near you!)
Nightfall Dress // Gypsy Warrior
Grey Bandana, Pink Mongolian Furry bag & Silver Hair clickers // New Look
(now buy one get one free in New Look!)

The infamous Gypsy Warrior dress is back - though to be honest it wasn't intended! I had actually planned to wear the grey ribbed dress I'm wearing underneath but when it arrived the other day I realised it was actually a midi dress, rather than a maxi dress which the eBay seller had described...boo!!

Its only one of a few my eBay faux pas though I've had over the years but this one was pretty annoying as I have been wanting a long sleeved maxi in grey for ages and was chuffed when I came across this Asos one on eBay..ah well - will prob end up adding this to Depop soon or just saving for workwear as its far to clingy and Kardashian like for me to want to wear at the weekend!

So I threw my trusty mesh dress over the top, its one of very few items in my wardrobe that gets worn regularly and I could never be without it. I prob should of done a how to wear this dress at least 10 different ways posts instead of the last two posts but oh well! Guess its a good thing to start wearing my wardrobe more often instead of new outfits all the time.

My fave thing though is the newest trend for this season - the neck tie. I used to wear alot of neck ties when I was a teen but am pleased these are making a comeback but as bandana neck ties! I have been stocking up on all different colours lately and love how they make make any outfit look chic in a few seconds! expect to see these making an appearance in alot of upcoming posts (which hopefully won't include my gypsy warrior dress!!)

Pentagram Harness

Rose Pink Mesh Maxi Dress // Gypsy Warrior
Black Wide Brim Fedora // TK Maxx
Black 20's style Bralet (worn underneath) // Ann Summers
Black Biker Boots (old)

I'm still obsessed with all things mesh seeing as its not really that cold yet, sneakily sneaking as much wear out of these in the next couple of weeks possible!

This is the dress that you may remember I mentioned in a post just before I went on honeymoon about that I picked up in the Gypsy Warrior in the Labour day sale. Its is just perfect for layering and more importantly is the perfect length for petite ladies, yay!

I love mesh cus it also allows you not only to get creative with layering but they are great for showing off undergarments as well - if u wear them over the top or underneath! underwear is outerwear! :)

This strappy cage harness pentagram top is fab for wearing underneath or over the top of your clothes as shown - I really wanted to get one to experiment with different looks you can create, I love harness straps worn over the top of shirts as well - will def have to try this in the future! :)

Jeffrey Campbell Dupes & Bell Sleeves

I had been lusting over the Free People x Jeffrey Campbell Joe boots for ages but the £248 price tag was way too pricey for me. I had a scout around on Ebay though and spotted these very looky likey boots and picked these up for just £35!

They look sooo close to the originals and come in similar colour choices to the Free People version, only the leather isn't as soft looking and these are a slightly lighter brown. The sizing and quality is really good for the price paid though! :) for £35 they are def a JC dupe win!

In more salesy bargains, I also managed to nab this gorgeous teal bell sleeve dress in Missguided's end of summer sale for a tenner! :D its thick material and long sleeves make it a great choice for autumn now its getting abit chillier outside in the evenings. Its completely sold out now but is still in Asos but not at the sale price.

Have you managed to get any good end of season bargains or found a good clothing dupe recently? let me know! :)

Easily Suede..

Brown Wood Platform Sandals // Topshop (down to £20 in the sale!)
Brown Feather Fedora // Select

Suede is gonna be huge this autumn as the 70s trend continues!

Suede dresses have been popping up everywhere as well in Missguided & Motel rocking cute brown mini dresses but although I like them I kinda wanted something that wasn't brown as most of the 70s stuff around is all brown at the moment! They are also all pretty expensive and I'm on a budget at the moment with a wedding just around the corner! So I went on to Ebay hoping I could grab a bargain and find something a little different and Ebay didn't disappoint!

These cute suede pinafore dresses are available from just £11 (depending on what colour you choose) and are in navy, rust, khaki and tan. a great alternative for those looking for different coloured suede rather than be dressed head to toe in brown for the whole season!

Anyhoo, I better get back to spending the eve watching Spongebob and trying to make rainbow meringues (wedding munch!) will let you know how it goes!
