Vagabond

I pay a quick homage to Prada's AW16 styling, minus the Sony NEX-5...

Corset Belt // DIY
Grey Thigh High Boots // Primark

A couple of weeks ago I went in to the hairdressers for my 3 monthly roots touch up. I'm usually there for hours (damn you fine, aubany hair!!) whilst they bleach it up in which time I usually read a book and every magazine the salon has to offer.

Whilst there reading editions of Glamour & Elle I stumbled across a feature on Prada's AW campaign earlier this year and totally fell in love with the styling. Miuccia Prada had explained backstage at her AW16 show that it was inspired by the idea of a Vagabond, all outfits were incredibly detailed, experimenting with layering and different textures - with one eye catching detail that struck me on most of the models which was a large corset belt worn in a fairly undone way.

This look has definitely inspired me to try this over the top of my 70s maxi dresses I lived in last year to give them a new season update, Although this DIY belt is far from finished. I wanted to make the edging look as raw as possible so I took an old pair of jeans and ripped along the seams for a frayed raw look.

The only newness on this one is my new grey thigh boots, pleased to now say I own a pair of thigh highs in black, brown and grey now with all three being different in that they are different heel sizes and fabrics!

PS. Sorry about the poor quality pictures, as you may of seen on my Instagram or Twitter, my camera faceplanted itself last time I was out with it (despite being on a flat service on its tripod!!) and fell in to a cosy pile of leaves.

Only then did I pick it up to find the lens had totally disjointed and now its completely broken with Jessops quoting more to repair than the whole camera cost me to buy new in 2013! :'( hopefully will think of a new alternative as whilst there is always a phone camera its no where near as good as I do miss my camera alot.

If you are solo shooting on a tripod though and find yourself minus a camera than the Timercam app  and a Joby Griptight mount for universal tripods are a good make do. The app is free and you can set a timer for up to 15 seconds and the Joby comes in at only £7.99 from John Lewis. You can pick up the next day from store or a Waitrose if they deliver to yours. That's how I'm making do for the moment!

Indian Summer

Tassel Suede Fringe Tan Jacket // Boohoo (now only £12!!)
Elephant Necklace // Claire's Accessories
Brown Fedora // Select
Brown Suede Cut Out Boots // New Look

Ok - totally get it may be abit of a stretch to call it an indian summer now that we are in November but it is still pretty mild outside if your live in the south of the UK (still pretty much 16-17 degrees here) When I've been up north in the UK at this time of year you can definitely note the temperature change!

I think I may have noticed this playsuit a little late on Motel as it may have actually of been in Motel a while cus of it's name but had to get it and wear to for the last couple of weeks in autumn as its just soo pretty!

Its the perfect retro playsuit and fits in perfectly with this years 70's trend. The pattern is very 70s nans wallpaper but I love it! :)

The sleeves are what make this piece so unique, not only are they flared bell sleeved by they also pretty three quarter frilly ones! <3

Wish I had spotted it on Motel slightly sooner to get more wear out of it for this season! Hoping they make a winter maxi dress in the same pattern in burgundy red perhaps to take it through to next season (hint hint & pretty please Motel!)

Prairie Doll

White Crochet Panel High Neck Dress // Topshop (sold out - I think?)
Biker Boots // Ebay

Sorry for the photo spam! I took the opportunity on one of the lovely sunny days last week whilst at work and  headed in to the fields and farmland, which is beautifully scenic and makes my camera happy!

The horses weren't too happy about me trespassing in their field though!

I love this dress from Topshop, I saw it a few weeks ago and then saw it pop in to the mid season sale just as soon as I returned from Italy so bought it straight away as I never usually get lucky in Topshop sales! As you know, I can't resist an LWD, specially another 70s style one! I haven't been able to post a link I'm afraid as I can't seem to find it on the Topshop site anywhere :(

I have also been teaming this dress up with my navy satin bomber jacket, it matches up really well as it also has stripes on the cuffs. Also need to try it out with over knee boots as I haven't yet. :)

The sale is on till this Friday, now with an extra 20% off!

Watch out for the new launch of Topshop Resort collection, landing on the 4th Nov - Can't keep up with all these new collections coming, but this one looks like a good un!

Sign up here to get access to the Resort collection early!

Jeffrey Campbell Dupes & Bell Sleeves

I had been lusting over the Free People x Jeffrey Campbell Joe boots for ages but the £248 price tag was way too pricey for me. I had a scout around on Ebay though and spotted these very looky likey boots and picked these up for just £35!

They look sooo close to the originals and come in similar colour choices to the Free People version, only the leather isn't as soft looking and these are a slightly lighter brown. The sizing and quality is really good for the price paid though! :) for £35 they are def a JC dupe win!

In more salesy bargains, I also managed to nab this gorgeous teal bell sleeve dress in Missguided's end of summer sale for a tenner! :D its thick material and long sleeves make it a great choice for autumn now its getting abit chillier outside in the evenings. Its completely sold out now but is still in Asos but not at the sale price.

Have you managed to get any good end of season bargains or found a good clothing dupe recently? let me know! :)

Easily Suede..

Brown Wood Platform Sandals // Topshop (down to £20 in the sale!)
Brown Feather Fedora // Select

Suede is gonna be huge this autumn as the 70s trend continues!

Suede dresses have been popping up everywhere as well in Missguided & Motel rocking cute brown mini dresses but although I like them I kinda wanted something that wasn't brown as most of the 70s stuff around is all brown at the moment! They are also all pretty expensive and I'm on a budget at the moment with a wedding just around the corner! So I went on to Ebay hoping I could grab a bargain and find something a little different and Ebay didn't disappoint!

These cute suede pinafore dresses are available from just £11 (depending on what colour you choose) and are in navy, rust, khaki and tan. a great alternative for those looking for different coloured suede rather than be dressed head to toe in brown for the whole season!

Anyhoo, I better get back to spending the eve watching Spongebob and trying to make rainbow meringues (wedding munch!) will let you know how it goes!

You Are The Constellations

Gold Saturn Hair Rings // Regal Rose
Black Leather Jacket // Pretty Little Thing
Platform Chunky Suede Thigh High Boots // Sole Affair

Messy plaits & floaty sheer shirt vibes..

Still trying, and failing, to create a braided look so went for this messy undone plait (which came even more undone in the wind!) for the weekend and some amazing gold Saturn hair rings from Regal Rose to accessorise. <3 love them! will def go back and get the sun and the feather ones.

These also go perfect with my starry new blouse from Oh My Love, saw this very Valentino-esk print blouse on their website and knew it had to be mine straight away! unlike my other pussybow blouse which is more shirtlike and waitressy, this one has abit of a more floaty feel, with pretty sleeves and can be worn as a dress or tucked in shorts - two outfits for the price of one!

The platform thigh highs have also made a comeback too! though never quite banished away till the autumn (you can never trust the pesky British weather!) I was missing them alot and thought as the weather had decided to go all windy and rainy again last week when it was so full of promise the week before they could come back out again!

How are you dressing for the transeasonal weather? :)
