Ashish X River Island

O hey! A sneaky lil collab between one of my fave fashion designers and River Island? Let's check this out!

Ashish x River Island Sequin Lace Slip Dress // River Island
Snow Queen Face Jewels // The Gypsy Shrine
Silver Boots // Primark

Hey all! Hope you had a good Christmas and got a good NYE planned! As this year has been one of my worst (particularly this last month) I am not sorry to see it go, bring on 2018!

I am hoping to be awake past midnight (I rarely make it!) and am gonna be wearing this amazing blue sequined Ashish dress I treated myself to for a post Christmas treat, it's perfect for NYE celebrations and is mega sparkly. Better still, I managed to bag this in the River Island sale for half the RRP price. If you are not a fan of blue, its also available in gold :)

I have been in hibernation from blogging as well you may of noted recently, I have got lots of stuff planned for Jan so alot of my Dec stuff will be appearing then. I literally have spent the last 3 weeks off work to try and de-stress so I have let the blog also have a break too!

My top plans for 2018 are:

- To travel more
- To spend more time for ME, using my weekend and evening time to do more creative things, reading books, taking up yoga and stuff like that
- Revamp the blog (was meant to be happening now but job sitch kinda put that back abit)
- Continue to eat better and less (I have kicked my comfort eating habit pretty well since October, hoping to continue this as am feeling alot better physically)

What are you wearing for NYE and do you have any 2018 plans set?

See you in the New year, you can check out the River Island Ashish collab here!

If The Love Isn't Like 90s RNB I Don't Want It

Going crazy for my late 90s/00's themed wardrobe RN with the Carli Bybel range over @ Missguided

Blue Camo Cargo Trousers // Carli Bybel x Missguided (sold out)
Silver Boots // Primark
Black Mesh Top // olddddd!
(see those thumb holes? I would of made those back in my college days!)

Ever had an item of clothing you have dreamed about and wanted to own but never got it? These amazing cargo pants are one of these! I had watched these for a long time on the Missguided website since the Carli collab came out, but they were A. pretty expensive at £55 and B. constantly sold out.

Luck must have fallen in my favour though (now THATS a rare thing!) as it looked like someone returned this pair so I swooped in and got them. They are now my absolute faves, I had cargo and parachute trousers in the early 00s/late 90s and wore them till they literally fell apart.

Hopefully, these will last me forever, or I will grab one of the other ones in different colours as per my wishlist below. Camo print does tend to come back in and out of fashion most AW's but there is something really special about this seasons camo offering and was the refresh the camo/military look really needed to get it back on my radar.

Sorry for the non festive post also. My December has been, to be polite, a little bit shit. I do have NYE stuff up and coming so will bring some sparkle to that once I have regained my festiveness. :)

Have a good Christmas!

Check out the Carli x Missguided range here

The 80s Called...

and they are ready to party! So bring your big hair, huge puff sleeves and neon colours out for Christmas party wear, AW17 style!

Pink Metallic Clutch // Primark
Blue Suede Heels // H&M
Blue Scarf (worn as hair tie) // Tie Rack

Party season is officially here! TBH I'm excited even without a party to go to as I cannot wait to see this year out, is has been one of my absolute worst, and that's comparing it to alot of pretty deep stuff so you know when I say its been crap it really really has been!

The fashion side of things has been far from a let down though, this season has seen a serious 80s revival, and as a proud 80s child I am lovin it!

This Asos dress ticks all the boxes, one shoulder, puff sleeve, colourful and of course a touch of leopard print! Unfortunately the camera doesn't pick it up, but there is also silvery stitching around the print which gives it a lovely shiny festive look.

I also haven't worn anything one shoulder in a longgg time, I used to love one shoulder tops though (I totally had one of the Tammy Girl tops with one shoulder and diamante writing "Babe" on it when I was around 14, you know you had one too!) so I am rediscovering my love for these here. It is much more comfy to wear than I thought it would be.

If you are looking for a look-at-me party dress this year then I think going for one of these unique one shoulder beauties is well worth it and will be a stand out piece for your wardrobe, that and think of all the layering possibility's you could do with this..!

If you don't feel confident rocking a huge puff sleeve, then why not try one of the more subtle options to give your take on the trend? Boohoo has some great ones in metallic shades, or if you want to go full blown 80s babe then hit up ASOS for shoulder pad and puff sleeve heaven.

Apres Ski

Another basic one (sorrryyy :( but this cute little top is def worth a mention for your layering wardrobe!

Slogan Long Sleeved Top // Marks & Spencer
Vinyl Trousers // Boohoo

Sorry to do yet another short n sweet basic post! I had sooo many ideas for what I wanted to do this season but got so wrapped up in work and been pretty broke! :(  Even on my trip to London last week (I'd booked a year and a half in advance lol) I only had £20 on me so majorly scrimped for the time I was there. I did have a pretty decent Greggs yums banquet though. I got a festive bake, pizza slice, cake and drink for under £5 :D Greggs came to my rescue!

I could of just waited till next week and got started on my winter and Christmas stuff then but I thought I'd show this cute long sleeved tee I picked up a couple of weeks back. Can you believe this is from M&S?

They have some really amazing stuff in there for A/W17 and and reasonable prices too! This was just £12 from the M&S Collection range and will look great will red lippy and curls for a slightly more toned down festive look then I will be doing as per usual this year! :)

Diamonds and Pearls

Madonna vibes with this 80's pearl and black velvet combo

Velvet Ruffle Skirt (Pearls added to it!) // Boohoo
White Shirt // Missguided
Silver Zip Boots // Primark

Sorry again for lack of posting, I've been crazy busy with my new job. Working in a salon is super busy and pretty tiring. It's exciting though and fast paced which I love and I do get an extra day off a week as I'm now working a 4 day working week. I've been learning loads though and putting in loads of extra time over the last 2 weeks to learn everything before the busy Christmas Party season arrives!

As I mentioned before, I also have to wear black there day to day so I've been looking around for outfits that liven it up abit and I came across this beauty of a bralet in River Island that is perfect for layering and adding abit a cool 80s glam to an otherwise dull outfit.

I thought I'd go matchy matchy so I also picked up this cute Boohoo skirt and added the pearl embellishment myself to save a couple of quid - Can you believe I picked these up from Poundland?! It came with loads of these stick on pearls in both white and rose gold for just a quid! Perfect for a budget outfit update!

Organza

I feel like something out of Blue Planet in this tee  (thinking more of a Jellyfish, not a Bobbit... *shudders)

Mom jeans // Stradivarius

Well aware this top will not be everyone's cup of tea as it is pretty out there! That's why it caught my eye though, I am a little bit of a collector when it comes to fashion, the crazier it is, the more exciting it is and more likely I'll buy it! I like to wear things that have alot of movement (if that makes any sense) I live swishy tutu skirts, maxis with a side split and pleated things.. not sure why but they always feel good to wear.

This one seriously takes the frills trend up a notch with these HUGE organza frill sleeves!  There will be PLENTY more organza around for the upcoming festive period which looks to be a 80s fashion frenzy, I am really looking forward to it.

I really like that this top is so mis-matched with its pink princess organza on a sporty looking V neck shirt.  Not sure if I'd wear with jeans again but will experiment with this more in the spring when the weathers back to being on the warmer side. Check out Asos Collection though when you can for more unique pieces like this!

Marie

Its officially sweater weather! And Primark have got just what you need to get the cutest AW look around!

Space Bun Extensions // Lullabellz
Mom Jeans // Stradivarius

If you haven't been in to Primark and checked out all the Disney goodies in there this year, then where on earth have you been!

Spring saw Primark's Beauty and the Beast range (still going verrrryyy strong!) with everyone going completely crazy over the adorable Mrs Potts and Chip tea sets. For A/W there is so much more Disney delights on store including these sweaters of various Disney characters. I picked sassy lil Marie from Aristocats and made these cute hairbands to match!

As promised, I will let you on the secret of my space buns. As you know my hair is pretty fine so getting space buns to look cute n messy is tricky. The fab people at Lullabellz have made these fab extension scrunchies which are a huge help for this as they make your messy buns look much more fuller. Better still, they come in so many different shades to match your hair colour and come in at just £15 a pair!

They are really easy to use, even for total hair numptys like me!

Check them out, they are also really good at giving advice on which colour you may need. I asked for mine as was unsure and they got it totally irght after I emailed a pic of my hair colour to them!

Rainbow Vinyl

Following in the footsteps of Gucci's AW17 rainbow looks with this swoonworthy knit!

Rainbow Knit Jumper // Daisy Street (sold out!)
Tiger Print Bag // Current Mood

This jumper is a dream! I have been wanting something like this so long so when I saw it on Daisy Street a few weeks back I jumped on it. Unfortunately its taken me an age to pop it on the blog as I've gone and changed jobs..again! This time with my health and freetime in mind.

My new role is local and in a salon! It allows me to spend more time doing things I never have time for as I'm now working 4 days a week instead of 5. I'm also on my feet the full time I'm at work now so I should be healthier for that too (may not show till after Christmas probably!) so far am really enjoying it as its fast paced and all the customers think I'm cute :D

I did do a full 6 day week last week for my first one and with each day being just under 12 hours long I was shattered. Those three days off (sun, mon, tues) felt amazing and I got to go out in the lovely Autumness and make these cute pics in all the leaves!

The vinyl trousers are also a new addition. You most definitely want to size up of you get these as they are very unforgiving on the waist but they look awesome and are so worth it :) look forward to trying these with other outfit combinations later in the season.

#allgirls

Chatting about my fave online fashion campaign of the year and another fabulous charity shop find!

Teal Coat // John Rocha (Charity Shop)
Grey Suede Boots // Primark
Tiger Print Bag // Current Mood

Sorry for lack of posting again! My blogging has been truly terrible this year having missed all spring and pretty much half of my fave season, autumn.. Thankfully with my new time off scenario (more on that later) I had time to shoot a couple of outfits today.  Que lots of squeezing in wears of leather jackets, thigh boots with sheer tights and long sleeved T's till it really is too cold to wear them over the next few weeks!

The coat is my new fave, another Haywards Heath charity shop find. It looks totally unworn by its previous owner and cost just £7! :) Think it was a British Heart Foundation shop.
I LOVE the colour, it really brightens up my darker outfits. I am now committed to wearing more black as I am now working in a salon this is the uniform colour I have to wear. So I'll be def separating my wardrobe in to fun weekendy things and my black gothicky salon attire!

This cute little black Boohoo tea dress was actually bought with another occasion in mind which was our wedding anniversary earlier this month. I am obsessed with all things from Boohoo at the moment and particularly their #allgirls campaign which I think more brands need to start to do.

The campaign features girls of all shapes, sizes and colour which makes such a refreshing change of the usual models who are all exactly the same height, body type and more often then not have had some kind of surgery done here as well as a mountain of photo-shopping. Its not always a realistic to advertise clothes when using these models as it doesn't represent every girl out there. So here we have the #allgirls campaign which I'm loving. Its so nice to see realistic models!

It would be great if the high street also followed suit and had different mannequin shapes and sizes as well as ones with disabilities too. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future this will happen!
