I'm back after a crazy busy weekend!

Yesterday, I went to London Fashion Weekend, which is the part of LFW that is open to the public. It was my first time going and I had an awesome day! I'll create a post about the day and the catwalks later this week after I've recovered!.

Hair was done by the lovelies at The Braid Bar! This was my third visit there since this time last year and they created this gorgeous fish tail braid in just under 15 mins! Perfect as I was dashing about with little time to spare and it was a great idea as it also kept my hair tamed for the day as it was pretty windy :)

For my outfit I decided to go for the iron on patches look which is a massive trend right now! I am so pleased that patches have made a huge comeback. I used to spend alot of time in my teens customising clothes and would spend my monies buying patches from a local shop called Gecko. I think its great to see this trend as it encourages you to create your own stuff which is one of a kind, and its super easy to do!  :)

Want to get in on the trend and feelin lazy? no worries! loads of shops on the high street & online are now selling loads of awesome garms with patches on them - take a look at some of my top picks below!

Grey Ribbed Knit Crop // Missguided
Hair by the Braid Bar (Eva Braid) // Selfridges Beauty Workshop London
Tribal Style Long Bead Choker // Primark
Skinny Jeans // Primark
Metallic Silver Sneakers // New Look

Soo I'm back after my very busy long weekend away at the British F1 GP (photos to follow up in due course!) my first experience camping with today being my first full day back n feel like I have the Glasto flu as I've heard it described from fellow festival gowers/friends who are experienced at the camping thing. In other words, I am completely exhausted from next to no sleep and feeling the effects after eating nothing but bacon butties and burgers for 3 days straight...lovely! :) never been so happy to see a plate of veggies for dinner when I got back, and no I'm not vegetarian!

Annywayyy, The day before I headed up to Silverstone I went to London to visit the Braid Bar again who now have their stand permanently there now after their trial period began back in March (you can read about my first visit to the Braid Bar here) and got a Eva braid which is like one sidey cornrows.

I also thought I'd do some exploring whilst I was there so I went all touristy and sat down in St James Park for a while, just next to The Mall and shot this incredible tie dye kimono from Rat & Boa.

I knew my main summer piece I wanted this summer was a tie dye kimono but kept finding short ones, ones that were just abit too long or I wasn't keep on the colours but this one was just what I was looking for and I bought it for myself for my birthday a couple of months ago.Rat & Boa is def a brand u wanna keep ur eyes on in future!

As well as the online store, they also sell through Asos too :) check them out!

The Braid Bar

Location: The Braid Bar, Selfridges, London

So yesterday I headed up to Londaaaan specially to visit The Braid Bar! I saw pics of the lovely ladies from The Braid Bar doing hair at the the Missguided SS15 press day event and had to google them to find out more about them and see where I could find them and stumbled across there website.

They don't have a permanent home at the moment as they are mainly doing events and are trying to get in to department stores or they did mention seeing if they could take up residence in the flagship Topshop further down Oxford Street. Right now and for this weekend, they are in my fave department store Selfridges!

Its a really cool relaxed atmosphere, where you can choose from the braid menu which include the Cara - a gorge side braid, the Gisele - a traditional fishtail braid, the Kate - a pretty heart shaped braid around the top of your head or you can go the whole hog and get a Beyoncee - a head full of cornrows! There are so many styles to choose from I actually didn't decide until I was on my way up on the train cus I couldn't decide!

Being a total braiding dunce who can't plait for toffee, I wanted something really different that would get my whole hair braided rather than play it safe with a half up half down style. I opted for the Tyra which as you can see in the pics is a tri-braid which you can have in a french or dutch braid style (I chose Dutch) splitting your parting in to three then meeting at the back.

You can also choose to customise your braid with charms, rings, glitter or hair chalks as I wasn't going out for the eve glitter seemed abit pointless so I went for a pink hair chalk and added the Regal Rose rings for a punky edgy look!

The staff were really lovely and chatty and I was really happy with the end result. I hope that the Braid Bar does get a permanent home be it in Selfridges or Topshop so I can go again and try out even more of the braids. Its a godsend for anyone else like me who can't plait or braid to save their lives!  I am gonna try and keep this braid in for the whole weekend and style it up different ways over the next couple of days! Check out my Instagram feed to see how I style it up!

The Braid Bar is open for this weekend only but may (hopefully!) extend to a couple more weekends this month due to popular demand. Make sure you book before you go as although you are welcome to drop in they cannot guarantee someone will be free at the time u arrive! :)
